ADVERTISING CARTOONS by Fran
I was contacted by an Agency working on behalf of
a large brewery. They were interested in developing a series of posters
and placemats for a new campaign. The focus of the cartoons would be
about a character that was ‘decent’ but a bit ‘hapless’.
They wanted a set of scenarios showing their beer drinker in different
situations where he good naturedly ends up in an embarrassing situation.
Within a couple of days I sent back these draft ideas. They’ve
been well received and things are ongoing. I love it when I’m
given an open and interesting brief and left to get on with it!
The strip cartoons are from a series of ads I prepared
for an engineering company to put in a trade magazine. This is a really
good way of getting your product information to jump out of the page.
