Fran is an excellent cartoonist and has been great to work with on GP over the years. He has managed to find an amusing take on the many issues facing the NHS week in, week out. What’s more, he’s able to turn things around for us quickly and is completely reliable.
Emma Bower Editor GP magazine
”I briefed Fran to create a number of cartoons for a series of ads we were producing for a major beer brand client of ours – I was delighted with the result, the punctuality and the cost. Fran is a true professional and it’s a pleasure to have worked with him.
”Fran worked with us on a Leadership programme. He produced cartoons which were used to stimulate learning and insights about current and desired leadership behaviours in the Client organisation. The sessions worked very well and provided excellent support for the learning process. I would wholeheartedlyrecommend Fran.”

I have used Fran for a few bespoke cartoons for my powerpoint presentations. I simply email Fran my ideas/request, he does his cartoony stuff and I end up with brilliant and unique material. To date the only payment I have made is to a couple of charities of Fran’s choice. So – not only do my presentations improve, I am also helping some deserving cause. I can not praise Fran’s work too highly. I would recommend Fran to anyone- a pleasure to work with. May 28, 2012

“I’ve worked with Fran for over 10 years. He’s the most incisive and funniest cartoonist in the UK.”
Mike Bryson cartoonist and caricaturist
Fran cartoons have been a regular feature in Napo’s newsletter, Napo News, which goes out to our 9,000 plus members 10 times a year, since the late 90s. Fran is also our first port of call when we want to spice up guides, reports and posters on such dry subjects as health and safety and how to operate our AGM procedures. (Just have a look at our ‘What is a Point of Order’ booklet produced last year and you will see what I mean).
What’s great about working with Fran is that he is not only a great cartoonist but he can find a sharp and funny angle to almost any topic we throw at him and turn even the most forbidding material – IT systems in chaos, cuts to Probation budgets, reorganizations in the MoJ, prison numbers soaring – into a really funny cartoon with the minimum of background information. This is certainly what we need in Napo as, as you can imagine, there are not too many obvious laughs in the area of Probation but often a bit of humour is the best way to get a serious point across.
